Historical Fiction in the Children's Room

The world of children's literature has always provided us with some stellar historical fiction---think Johnny Tremain, Little House on the Prairie, and The Witch of Blackbird Pond among others.  Currently, we're seeing a resurgence of great books for children that are firmly set in their historical periods.  In particular, we're seeing an upsurge in interest in stories that take place during World War II ---The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley is a prime example.  If you haven't read it yet, you should---it's a great read for adults, too!
