Yes, it's true---the kids of Amherst have now exceeded the goal of 6,000 hours of reading---which means that Miss Sarah and Miss Sue will have to show up at the Ice Cream Social next Thursday (Aug.

We've been having a great summer---with science, storytimes, crafts, performers, movies, a pet show, and lots and lots of reading!!

The 3rd Annual Amherst Library Pet Show is being postponed due to the weather report.  We will be holding the pet show in two weeks--on Wednesday, July 30, at 10:30---hopefully the weather will cooperate!  Please make sure to come down and see all the kids and their pets--it's one of our favorite

Fizz, Boom, Read!, our summer reading program, got off to a great start last week!  We have over 400 children registered, and they've already read for a combined total of nearly 900 hours!!

Starting Monday, we'll be registering kids for this year's Summer Reading Program.

Miss Sarah is in love....with her new book display shelf, that is!!! Thank-you so much to the Friends of the Amherst Town Library, for purchasing this item for the Children's Room, and to the wonderful folks at the Public Works Department for doing such an amazing job customizing it for us.

It's only Tuesday, but we're already having a great vacation week here in the Children's Room.  We've  had a movie matinee, a Matchbox Mania morning, and a visit from Wingmasters (who introduced us to some real, live owls!).

It's that time of year again---time to vote for your favorite Great Stone Face book!  The Great Stone Face Book Award is given annually to an author whose book receives the most votes from 4th through 6th graders throughout the state.  Every spring,  N.H.
