Historical Highlight


In remembrance of the recent 101st anniversary of the beginning of World War One, peak into the past, with a look at several journal entries that documented the service of 14 Amherst soldiers. From 1917-1918 the whereabouts and letters from these soldiers were recorded in this journal. Each letter contained reassurance of the soldiers’ safety and stories from the trenches.  Did you know that the soldiers heard a rumor that Boston, MA had been shelled by Germany?
