At the latest meeting of the Popcorn and Oreo-Eating Monsters (otherwise known as P.O.E.M.!!) we shared our opinions about the latest books we're all reading. As usual, we started our meeting by reading a selection of poems we'd all brought in---after all, when your acronym is P.O.E.M., it just seems like a natural thing to do! Sometimes, they're poems we've written ourselves, sometimes just a poem that we like...

As far as books go, we all like different things, but we all love to read---here's a sample:

Hannah is just getting around to reading The Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins, and is loving it!
Aiden tried to explain the labyrinthian plot of The Reluctant Assassin by Eoin Colfer....we're not sure we get it, but he loves it, and we know that Eoin Colfer is a great writer (Artemis Fowl series...), so it must be good!
Bailey just finished Flygirls by Sherri Smith---it's a story about the young women who piloted airplanes during World War II.  Bailey highly recommends this to anyone who likes historical fiction, and stories about World War II in particular.
Ethan talked to us about the stories he's read from the collection called Geektastic by John Green, David Levithan, Cassandra Clare, etc....He liked some better than others, but overall, he gives it two thumbs up.

If you love to read, and love to talk about what you're reading, join us for our next meeting on Wednesday, April 20 at 6:30pm---there's lots of great conversation, and, of course, popcorn and oreos to eat!!
