Getting Involved

How do I give to the ATL?

Thank you for thinking of the Amherst Town Library. You can make a monetary donation by writing a check payable to the “Amherst Town Library.” If you are interested in making a material donation, contact the Library Director to ensure that your contribution aligns with our current needs and guidelines. Books in honor of a person can be a great way to commemorate a special birthday or remember a friend who has passed.

Additionally, the Friends of the Library is a 501(c)3 nonprofit membership organization that benefits the library. In addition to checks, the Friends accept online payments. Visit the Friends of the Library website for more information.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated and plays a vital role in sustaining the library's services and enriching our community. Thank you for your support!

Does the library accept book donations?

Your donation could be sold at the on-going book sale to raise funds which are 100% reinvested back into the Amherst Library to help enhance our programs and services, such as museum passes & concerts. Please contact Janice McDermott by email at to make arrangements. Click here to learn what materials are acceptable for donation

Can I exhibit my artwork in the library?
